5th Xposition ‘O’ Contemporary Dance Fiesta

The biennial XPOSITION ‘O’ CONTEMPORARY DANCE FIESTA had its inaugural presentation in November 2001. The inaugural season featured dance performances by Singapore’s Odyssey Dance Theatre, the acclaimed Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts, and Brisbane’s award-winning Expressions Dance Company. The XPOSITION ‘O’ series has grown over the years, presenting distinguished companies such as South Korea’s Dance Company JoBac, THE BODY, Lee Yung-Yeon Dance Company, Namjin Kim Dance Company and Seo Dong Hyun & Company, Arrow Dance Communication (Japan), Alyton (Finland), Dance Forum Myra Beltran (Philippines), Labayen Dance/SF Enrico Labayan (USA), Cathy Seago & Dancers (UK), Raka Maitra & Company (India). This range of dances from around the world has helped to realign the understanding of Contemporary Dance in Singapore and Asia.

Xposition ‘O’ has placed strong emphasis on professional dance-making and its impact on the local and regional dance scenes. With such strong international presence in a major local dance event, the public can continue to expect to see lots of synergy, participation, cultural exchanges and dance appreciation for the local and international contemporary dance in this iconic event at ODT
