Since the outbreak of the Severe
Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) cases, Odyssey Dance Theatre
(ODT) has adopted some guidelines by the Ministry of Health, to
safeguard the health and interests of our audience and performers,
though Singapore was removed from the list of SARS affected countries
on 31 May 2003.
For XPOSITION 'O' CONTEMPORARY
DANCE FIESTA 2003, we would like to assure our audience and
the participating dance organisations that every possible precaution
is taken to ensure that any visit to Singapore Art Museum (SAM)
and Victoria Theatre (VT) will be a safe and pleasurable one.
For ALL ticketed events and performances
during XPOSITION 'O', the following measures have been taken:-
(i) Prominent notices are
placed at entrances of performing venues, informing the public
about SARS & advising them NOT to enter these premises if
they show the identified symptoms.
(ii) With effect from 8 May, all
audience to ODT's events and performances will have to sign a
modified Health Declaration Form. These declarations will
be retained for one month.
(iii) Any member of the public who
is found to have a fever (37.5 Degree Celsius and higher) will
NOT be allowed entry. Refunds can be arranged with the organiser,
within 7 days from the date of event.
(iv) Counter and front-of-house
reception staff will monitor visitors and audience carefully.
They will alert their immediate supervisors if they detect any
unwell visitors.
(v) All premises (such as theatres
and auditoriums) are cleaned and disinfected more frequently than
in the past. This will also include the toilets and areas/surfaces
at performing venues which people access regularly.
(vi) At ODT and all performing venues,
self-monitoring schemes are in place whereby all staff,
including part-timers, will inform their supervisors if they are
unwell, and to seek medical advice immediately. Staff has been
provided with thermometers to check and record their temperature
twice a day.
(vii) ODT, SAM and VT will consider
and implement measures from the most updated health advisory from
MOH. The latest health advisory can be found at http://app.moh.gov.sg.
(viii) For all productions in Year
2003, ODT will also comply with NHB and NAC health screening requirements.
